Mann Government's 'Roshan Punjab' Mission: People Will Get Relief From Power Cuts (X)
Mann Government's 'Roshan Punjab' Mission: One of the major issue of power cuts is about to end in Punjab. Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann's government has launched the 'Roshan Punjab' scheme, promising to provide uninterrupted, affordable electricity across the state by next year. This is not just a scheme, but a mission to illuminate every home, every farm, and every industry in Punjab.
The government has made a massive investment of Rs 5,000 crore for this project. This is the largest expenditure in the power sector in Punjab's history. Its aim is to revitalize the entire power system, ensuring uninterrupted power supply to every village and every city.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann stated that this initiative is a major step towards Punjab's development and strengthening public confidence. He stated that no factory in Punjab will be stuck waiting for electricity, nor will any farmer remain in darkness. Every household will receive 24-hour electricity, and that too at affordable rates.
Power Minister Mr Sanjeev Arora is overseeing this project, while PSPCL Chairman Ajay Kumar Sinha and his team are working day and night to ensure electricity reaches every corner. The Mann government has taken concrete steps to ensure uninterrupted power supply. Long-term coal supplies from the Pachhwara mine have been secured, ensuring uninterrupted power generation. Furthermore, by taking over the GVK thermal plant, the government has ensured that the Punjab government retains complete control of power generation, ensuring direct benefits to the public.
To further strengthen the power system across Punjab, new substations are being constructed, old ones are being repaired, and new cables are being laid. These improvements will provide relief to residents from voltage issues, reduce power outages, and ensure faster power restoration in case of outages.
A special project has been launched in 13 municipal corporations to improve safety and cleanliness in urban areas. Under this initiative, non-electrical wires are being removed from PSPCL poles, overhanging lines are being repaired, and open meter boxes are being closed, ensuring a safe and clean environment for the public. For public convenience, a new, modern call center with 180 seats has been opened in Mohali. This will further strengthen the 1912 helpline, ensuring prompt resolution of public complaints.
The ultimate goal of the 'Roshan Punjab' scheme is to provide reliable, affordable, and uninterrupted power to the public. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that this is not just about electricity, but the foundation of Punjab's bright future. Now, every home, every farm, and every industry in Punjab will truly be illuminated; this is the dream of 'Roshan Punjab'.
